my biggest fans.....

...or should I say my #1 Customers.
One day I got a call from a friend asking if it was possible to make eggless cakes.
I told my friend that I was sure it was possible, just google a recipe and I am sure one would come up.
Well, he was actually asking if I could make a cake for a friend of his for his birthday.
You see their religion prevents them from eating anything that has the potential for life.
I thought that was a cool concept.

After making some samples, and deciding on the best one, a customer was made.
First Up Customer's birthday, he wanted cupcakes and for me to go light on the frosting.

(I actually prefer a bit whimsical myself:)

Then a couple of weeks later came his wife's birthday. It turned out cool I thought, with lots of "layers" of frosting on top.

Then came their kids birthdays. [Insert blue frosting cupcakes here, no photo for school party. When I dropped off said cupcakes, customer's wife asked if I was ready to make more cakes for Saturday.] With little sleep I made the following two cakes.

Thomas is a strawberry cake. Texas Ranger is Chocolate.

And never heard from them again..... well probably until August when I am sure it will all start over again. :)

it all started with a pig....lets call him Wilbur

My gracious friend told a fellow teacher about me being a caterer. The teacher was super excited to find out that I could do "any" kind of cake she wanted for her son's rehersal dinner. The event was taking place at a BBQ joint, so of course, a PIG was requested. Not just any pig. SOME PIG.

Homer Zuckerman: There he is!
Arable: That's some pig.
Avery Arable:He's terrific.
Lurvy: He's radiant.
Mrs Zuckerman: Well, he's clean anyway. That buttermilk certainly helped.
quote from Charlotte's Web.

This Wilbur got rave reviews at the BBQ. Chocolate Buttermilk Cake, Fudge Filling, Chocolate Buttercream Frosting, and a dose of pink fondant, is what made this pig FaMoUs.
